National Youth Service of Luxembourg – “Service National de la Jeunesse” (SNJ)
Our mission is to actively contribute to creating an environment that supports the healthy development of young people. Through educational programs, we help them become responsible, engaged, and active citizens who respect democracy, shared values, and the fundamental rights of our society. As an administration under the Ministry of Education and Youth, our services target both youth sector stakeholders and young people directly. Our motto is "Jonker staark maachen" ("Empowering young people").
In line with this mission, we launched the “S-Team: Get envolved!” project — an initiative that promotes respect, inclusion, and peaceful coexistence in schools and youth care institutions. In our partner organizations, young participants are selected and trained in the core values of social harmony and non-violence. These “S-Team” groups then lead awareness-raising initiatives among their peers, encouraging positive behavior and mutual respect. To further strengthen their engagement, young people also have the opportunity to receive additional training in order to become peer mediators.
All S-Team groups are guided by educators who receive training and ongoing support from our team.
